Dream trip to Scotland, UK, and possibly Ireland - Hello, I am trying to figure out when is the best time for me to schedule my dream trip to Scotland, UK, and time permitting, Ireland. I obviously want to go when the weather will be good, but honestly don't want to deal with the busy tourist season if I can help it. (I come from an area that gets a lot of tourists, so would rather avoid it, and opt for a true cultural activity). One problem I have is that I am not sure what the tourist season is for this particular region. I believe it is in July, but would rather know for sure.
I plan on taking a self paced, self driven tour of the areas chosen, mainly because I know I tend to get side-tracked if I find an environment I really enjoy (ok, admittedly, I am a camera bug and can get lost in what I am doing) so tours seem a somewhat ridiculous thought.... Have I made the right choice! - I am taking my wife to New York at the end of November for our first wedding anniversary. Originally I booked with Eos, of course they went bump and after getting my money back from my credit card I looked at other airlines to book with.
Because it is a special occasion, I wanted to go business class, so I looked at both BA and Virgin. After some booking problems with BA, I went with Virgin and their upper class ticket. I have heard some conflicting reports about Virgin and wondered if I should have gone with BA. I have read quite a few negative things about Virgin, has anybody got any positives about their upper class product?

This time I did a mobile trip (Maun - Chobe - Maun) with Ewan and stayed in three lodges (Chitabe Lediba - Xigera - Duba plains).
I enjoyed them very much and as a keen photographer I would encourage people not only to visit the private concessions because I think that the national parks have also a lot to offer. If you are serious about your photography and want the best possible wildlife experience, I would actually encourage to do both.
Before I went on this mobile safari, I put up a list of mammals and birds, which I thought we were almost guaranteed to see. Well, we saw all mammals (around 30 species) and missed three birds out of a 100.
